 What Guides Us

Our Core Values

AYDI’s core values define who we are and guide how we work with young people, communities, partners, and one another. They shape our decisions, strengthen our relationships, and keep us accountable to the people we serve.

What we do

Our mandate

IMG_1582

AYDI works across West Nile to create lasting change in four key areas.

Promote youth social rights and inclusion

We work to ensure that young people especially girls, and those from marginalized communities know their rights and can exercise them freely. This includes advocacy against harmful practices and discrimination, and creating safe spaces where youth voices are heard in decisions that affect their lives.

Improve access to quality education and health services

AYDI partners with schools, and local leaders to remove the barriers that keep children particularly girls and out-of-school youth from learning and staying healthy. Our work spans support for learner-centered education, school retention initiatives, and links to essential health services in underserved communities.

Strengthen youth participation in community development

We believe young people are not just beneficiaries of development but active drivers of it. AYDI builds youth leadership skills and creates platforms from community dialogues to local groups where young people can take part in planning and decision-making that shapes their communities' future.

Support sustainable livelihood opportunities

To break cycles of poverty, AYDI equips youth and their families with practical skills, mentorship, and links to income-generating opportunities. We focus on approaches that are sustainable long after our direct support ends, helping young people build independent, dignified livelihoods.
